For a new line at work, experimenting with a style similar to some band posters I saw for the Black Keys etc that looked that bits of paper made into a mosaic. These are pretty time consuming but fairly fun.
Yeah, we've been seeing a big uptick in that happening. Unfortunately it looks like the image was used by a manufacturer in China who has mass produced these and they sell them on all sorts of stores on Etsy, Amazon and eBay. There isn't really a whole lot you can do because as soon as you get one of the stores shut down they open up a new one and just get right back to it. It isn't worth the time any more to try to track down every shop they have open unfortunately. :/ It used to be much smaller operations would snag the stuff we do but when it gets that big it's hard to do much. Thanks for the heads up though, I appreciate it when people let me know!
I am very drawn to this mosaic style and want to try some myself. I've never done much experimenting with mosaics of any kind, but the fact that this one is made of paper has inspired me. Would you share with me some tips on how to start this, as in, what kind of paper or glue or ? I'm mesmerized and completely new to it all. Thanks!
It's actually made with Photoshop and not of paper at all, it's all digital. You can use the polygonal lasso tool in Photoshop to create all the little tiles going corner to corner and then use the fill bucket to color them in. There may be similar functions in some free graphics programs like Gimp, though I haven't touched it in a while to know what it has.
